C18-36 Acid Glycol Ester

An ester of long-chain (hydroxylated) coconut fatty acids, it is used as a thickening agent. This ingredient also shows skin conditioning properties. DERIVED FROM the reaction of fatty primary amines with ethylene oxide.
WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS INGREDIENT
Though glycols are a topic of discussion in community forums, there is no reported evidence showing toxicity to humans when used in its proper supported use in skincare and cosmetic preparations.

Caffeine

Has antioxidant properties to help decrease the production of reactive oxygen and free radicals in the area of application and has been shown to stimulate hair follicles through its effect on the enzyme 5-alpha reductase.

Cyclopentasiloxane

Works as an emollient that allows cosmetics products to glide easily for application, dry quickly, and leave the skin feeling silky smooth. As a solvent, it helps to deliver other active ingredients in the formulation to the skin. Although rare, it can cause irritation to those with sensitive or reactive skin. This ingredient has no known side effects or toxicity. DERIVED FROM silica, oxygen, and alkane which is then refined for use in cosmetic and skincare formulations.

Through various and numerous testing, this ingredient has proved to show no known toxicity to humans when used in its proper supported use in skincare and cosmetic preparations.

Dimethicone / Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer

Used as a dispersing agent and emulsion stabilizer. Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer is a silicone powder that produces a silky feel on the skin. It has been documented to show protective and hydrating properties when used topically in formulations. Because of its large molecule size, it is unable to penetrate the skin, allowing it to function as a skin barrier to shield skin, known to "blur" fine lines and wrinkles in appearance, and protect pores from exposure to environmental contaminants while still allowing skin to breathe. DERIVED FROM silica (an abundant Earth element) cross-linked with glycol. This process creates a dimethicone crosspolymer and shows improved stability compared to their linear counterparts. The independent Cosmetic Ingredient Review panel has found dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer to be safe when used in skincare products.

Disteardimonium Hectorite

From the clay mineral hectorite, this ingredient acts as a thickening agent in formulations to control viscosity. DERIVED FROM hectorite.
